God The Father–God Who Lives
1 Corinthians 8:6
6 But for us,
There is one God, the Father,
by whom all things were created,
and for whom we live.
And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ,
through whom all things were created,
and through whom we live.
6 one God and Father of all,
who is overall, in all, and living through all.
9 And don’t address anyone here on earth as ‘Father,’ for only God in heaven is your Father.
5 Father to the fatherless, defender of widows—
this is God, whose dwelling is holy.
8 And yet, O Lord, you are our Father.
We are the clay, and you are the potter.
We all are formed by your hand.
10 Are we not all children of the same Father? Are we not all created by the same God? Then why do we betray each other, violating the covenant of our ancestors?
3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.
17 Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.
13 The Lord is like a father to his children,
tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
9 Jesus replied, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? My words are not my own, but my Father, who lives in me, does his work through me. 11 Just believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. At least believe because of the work you have seen me do.
16 Surely, you are still our Father!
Even if Abraham and Jacob would disown us,
Lord, you would still be our Father.
You are our Redeemer from ages past.
1 Peter 1:3
3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation,
16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his One and only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
1 John 3:1
3 See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! Nevertheless, the people who belong to this world do not recognize that we are God’s children because they do not know him.
14 So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. In addition, we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s One and only Son.
21 At that same time, Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, and he said, “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way.
22 “My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. 4 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
11 My child, accept the Lord’s discipline and don’t be upset when he corrects you.
12 For the Lord corrects those he loves,
just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.
30 The Father and I are one.”
10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father, who lives in me, does his work through me.
6 For a child is born to us; a son is given to us.
The government will rest on his shoulders.
And he will be called:
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
26 Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. So they will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”
15 So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his children.[ Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”
26 But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and remind you of everything I have told you.
6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
27 “My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”
4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.
26 Look at the birds. They do not plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?
9 Jesus replied, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you?
18 No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself, God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.
9 For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body
2 There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
2 Corinthians 6:18
18 And I will be your Father,
and you will be my sons and daughters,
says the Lord Almighty.
16 After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.”
6 Is this the way you repay the Lord,
you foolish and senseless people?
Isn’t he your Father who created you?
Has he not made you and established you?
9 “You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? 10 Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! 11 So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.
1 John 4:14
14 Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.
9 This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord, your God is with you wherever you go.”
23 “Look! The virgin will conceive a child!
She will give birth to a son,
and they will call him Immanuel,
which means ‘God is with us.’”
7 As you endure this divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his children. Whoever heard of a child whose Father never disciplines?
1 In the beginning, the Word already existed.
The Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
7 The king proclaims the Lord’s decree:
“The Lord said to me, ‘You are my Son.
Today I have become your Father.
17 “Don’t cling to me,” Jesus said, “for I haven’t yet ascended to the Father. But go find my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
6 This is what the Lord says—Israel’s King and Redeemer, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies:
“I am the First and the Last;
there is no other God.
3 The Son radiates God’s glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven.
29 “But I said to you, ‘Don’t be shocked or afraid of them! 30 The Lord your God is going ahead of you. He will fight for you, just as you saw him do in Egypt. 31 And you saw how the Lord your God cared for you all along the way as you traveled through the wilderness, just as a father cares for his child. Now he has brought you to this place.’
36 “Abba, Father, “He cried out, “everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want Your Will to be done, not Mine.”
29 For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son so that his Son would be the firstborn[a] among many brothers and sisters.
11 And a voice from heaven said, “You are my dearly loved Son, and you bring me great joy.”
23 Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.
24 For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
11 So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.
15 Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.
He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,
14 For all who the Spirit of God leads are the children of God.
32 “So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.
8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.”
20 For it is not you who will be speaking—it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
1 John 5:20
20 And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life.
10 “But you are my witnesses, O Israel!” says the Lord.
“You are my servant.
You have been chosen to know me, believe in me,
and understand that I alone am God.
There is no other God—
there has never been, and there never will be.
6 Then, all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
5 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for the asking.
6 But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
11 “You are worthy, O Lord, our God,
to receive glory and honor and power.
For you created all things,
and they exist because you created what you pleased.”
2 Corinthians 4:4
4 Satan, who is the God of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They do not understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.
19 You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.
36 “However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows.
32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?
20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. They can clearly see his invisible qualities through everything God made—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
29 Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord, our God, is the one and only Lord.
2 This truth gives them confidence that they have eternal life, which God—who does not lie—promised them before the world began.
1 Thessalonians 3:13
13 May he, as a result, make your hearts strong, blameless, and holy as you stand before God our Father when our Lord Jesus comes again with all his holy people. Amen.
16 for through him God created everything
in the heavenly realms and on earth.
He made the things we can see
and the things we can’t see—
such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world.
Everything was created through him and for him.
19 For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children are.
13 You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.
